Players Code of Conduct
By being a part of the Geneva Softball Association, you are committing yourself to be pushed to grow as a softball player and athlete. The coaching staff will expect all team members to conduct themselves in a responsible manner and be prepared to meet new challenges. Consistent behavior that disrupts the team learning environment will impact practice participation and in turn game participation. The following items are in place to make you a better player/person and promote the image of our softball program.
a) Be consistently on time for all softball related activities. Please be courteous enough to call if you cannot attend or will be late. Update attendance.
b) Practice at “Game Pace.” You are expected to treat practice just like a game. Practice is the time to learn and improve. You control your ability to grow. Effort isn't a trait that a coach can pull out of you.
c) Always support your teammates ON and OFF the field. Lead by example.
d) Be Coachable. Focus and listen to your coaches’ instructions. Ask questions if you are not sure. Be willing to try new positions, new techniques. Be willing to do whatever your team needs you to do.
e) Everyone plays a role on any team. That role will change throughout the season and even throughout a tournament. Bring your whole self to every opportunity.
f) Respect your coaches, parents, teammates, umpires, opponents, equipment, and facilities at all times. Always assume someone is watching whether you are on the field, in the dugout, or in the parking lot.
g) You can play hurt, but you can't play injured. Be honest with yourself and your coaches. The team is better with 100% of your teammate than they are 70% of an injured player.
